- How about hosing the brakes down with water first? Or, wear a dust
- mask.
-
- However, I've heard that asbestos dust from brakes is not in fact
- harmful. Supposedly the fibres in brake dust have been ground so
- finely that they do not cause lung damage. I believe the article
- was in _Motor_ magazine, a trade magazine for auto repair shops.
- The article claimed that there was no good reason for eliminating
- asbestos brake pads, other than creating more business for the
- makers of non-asbestos brake linings.
