- This was picking up on a statement made by someone else who said "nous
- avons tous le meme access a l'education".
-
- Marc m'a demande' de m'expliquee'.
-
- I have stated (a number of times) that we do NOT all have the same access
- to education in Quebec.
-
- Chapter viii of Bill 101, and the fact that paragraph 23(1)(a) of the
- Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is not applicable in Quebec,
- make it legally possible for about 12,000 English speaking children in
- this province to be DENIED access to education in their own language
- schools. (If the parents attempt to obtain their certificate of
- eligibility for instruction in English the children are actually
- "declare' ineligible pour l'instruction en anglaise" !!!!)
-
- Hardly a demonstration of open-mindedness and tolerance! :-(

- Roughly translated:-
-
- 'Congratulations for you trying to get closer (... to the francophones).
- You are really making a lot of effort to change the impression people have
- of anglophones: stupid and close-minded, ("close-monded" not open to the
- world? :-) )".'
-
-
- What Bourassa said in the National Assembly on March 14th, 1989 is a
- matter of public record.
-
- I'm sorry if it upsets you too.

- Better find a huge supply for Quebec before it is too late!
-
-
- P.S. I suggest we move this discussion to can.politics now.
