- The University of South Africa is a distance teaching institution that
- has been in existance from 1946. It has 120 000 students none of which
- are campus based - all tuition is through correspondence. Although the
- university teaches through correspondence, it still has a fixed academic
- year of twelve months, January through December.
-
- The huge number of students and the projected growth of our student
- population necessitates an urgent investigation of this university model.
- UNISA is currently investigating the possibility of an open system of
- registration where the student registers at any time according to his/her
- particular circumstances and sit for an examination when ready. There are
- other universities that operate according to similar tuition systems.
- Information pertaining to such institutions (Location, Contact Person,
- Fax number, etc.) is urgently required.
-
- Can you help? Please reply by E-mail to koningj@risc1.unisa.ac.za.
