- I agree, second-hand smoking is hazardous. And everybody has right to avoid it
- without any effort. Although I'm a smoker I don't smoke while I fly (even before
- the smoking ban on aircrafts). But you can not eliminate second-hand smoking
- by raising the tax on cigarettes. There is no, as far as I know, slightest proof
- that increasing the cigarette prices actually reduces the consumption. Besides;
- the revenue collected from cigarette tax does not necessarily go to health
- programs. In MA legislators can use that money wherever they wish.
