- Yes there can be adverse effects! If you start with fully charged
- nicads and fresh alkalines, the nicads will die before the alkalines.
- Then the alkalines will start to reverse charge the nicads, which is
- bad for them.

- This is also a bit of a problem if you use all nicads and their
- capacities aren't well matched. Some devices designed for nicads will
- cut themselves off when the voltage drops (the first cell dies) even
- though they could continue running at the lower voltage.
