  12. Whenever I use gnus, then subsequently use trn (when I want to read a
  13. newsgroup that has several hundred articles and don't have twenty
  14. spare minutes to watch them all get threaded), trn complains about my
  15. .newsrc, and spends several minutes doing something, I don't know
  16. what.  No other news reader that I have used seems to provoke this.
  17. Anyone have any idea what's happening here?

  19. Also, any insight into what is going on when I try to read a newsgroup
  20. and the threading phase barfs with the message, "symbol's value as
  21. variable is void: THRU"?  This only happens with some newsgroups, and
  22. trn seems to have no trouble with them.
