  14. I have a real problem with xterm under linux+xfree86, both version
  15. 1.0Ya and 1.1.  I have the latest libs.  I am using X386mono with a
  16. standard VGA screen, resolution 640x480, virtual screen 800x600
  17.  
  18. xterm starts, but never displays.  It gives no debugging output (xterm
  19. >& /tmp/xterm.log stays empty).  It doesn't appear to ever connect to
  20. the server, because when I exit X, my xterm processes hang around,
  21. doing nothing but take up memory.

  23. I have no network, and the server is being started with the -pn flag.
  24. My DISPLAY is properly set and exported to ":0".
  25. Other clients work (xclock for example).  I have running xterm with no
  26. arguments, with -geometry set, with -e /bin/bash, with -e /bin/zsh,
  27. all to no avail.  This happens both as a normal luuser and as root.

  29. I'm out of nifty ideas.  Does anyone here have any?  I'd appreciate
  30. any help!
