- Hi there Net,
-
- I am having some difficulty configuring the Xconfig
- file for the xwindows server on my 386BSD installation. I am
- new to unix from a VMS background but Xwindows is Xwindows I
- guess.
- My system is 486SX25 20M ram 200M hard drive, TVGA8900C video
- controller with 1mvram. Tystar SVGA monitor. Xfree86 installed
- fine I think.I tried the default Xconfig and I get the following
- error message after the screen blanks and tries to sync.
- :-
- XFree86 Version 1.1/ X Window System
- (protocol Version 11,revision0, vendor release 5000)
- Configured drivers:
- VGA256 (256 COLOUR svga):
- ET4000,ET3000, PVGA1, GVGA, ATI, TVGA8900
- X10: fatal 10 error 32 (Broken Pipe) on X server ":0.0
- Σfter 0 requests (0 known processed) with o events remaining.
- The connection was probably broken by a server shutdown or
- KillClient.
-
- Does this mean my Xconfig incorrect or is the installation not
- installed correctly.I've tried different settings in Xconfig
- but with slightly different display results but always the
- same server failure code. So I guess what I really want to know is
- this error normal for a faulty config file?
