  14. I hope the following will answer all your questions you may have concerning
  15. the problem you mentionned.

  18. What systems are affected :
  19.  
  20. - All ULTRIX 4.3 systems running DECnsr.
  21.  
  22. - Any systems running ULTRIX 4.2A with the tcp_output.o patch.  
  23.  (The tcp_output.o patch was retracted by the CSC some time ago, 
  24.   but some 4.2A systems continue to run it.)  
  25.  
  26. How the problem affects the system :
  27.  
  28. - The problem can hang or crash the system.
  29.  
  30. When the problem occurs:
  31.  
  32. - The problem occurs when a DECnsr user terminates an active save or 
  33.   recover session, either by issuing the nsr_shutdown command or
  34.   by killing DECnsr daemons.
  35.  
  36. Current workaround :
  37.  
  38. - DECnsr users whose systems are affected by the problem should avoid using 
  39.   the nsr_shutdown command or killing any DECnsr daemons while a DECnsr 
  40.   save or recover session has I/O activity.
