  13. The Hypercard "open" command can be used to start up a MacIntosh 
  14. application from within a Hypercard Stack.  
  15. I would like to start up an A/UX shell script
  16. from within Hypercard. Is there some way to do this?
  17. I have tried and have observed the following:
  18.  
  19. 1) Hypercard "open" won't start a shell script with the path fully specified;
  20. it says the script is not an application.
  21. 2) when the shell scripts path is not specified, the Hypercard "path-tracking-
  22. capability" will not list (does not recognize) shell scripts.
  23. 3) The above items are also true when trying to "open"
  24. (e.g.) the TextEditor or any of the "rez'd" programs in /mac/src.
  25. 4) Hypercard will "open" any MacIntosh Application, seemingly no matter
  26. where it is .

  30. I currently run A/UX  2.0 but will soon upgrade to 3.0. Also, while I am
  31. currently playing with Hypercard, I eventually want to 
  32. do "opens" from MacroMind Director.
