  11. People have frequently asked what the minimum system for running Amiga
  12. UNIX is. Well yesterday I brought up a working Amiga UNIX 2.1 system
  13. in a 24Mb s5 partition. Admittedly I had some swap space and the
  14. obligatory 2Mb boot partition too, but the system itself was only
  15. taking up about 14Mb of the 24Mb!

  17. Ok, so this was a pretty stripped-down system with just the
  18. "essentials" package and "ucb compatibility" packages installed, but
  19. it was a quite usable UNIX system with most of the expected utilities.

  21. A stock standard Amiga 3000 with a Quantum 52 hard drive should quite
  22. happily house a bare-bones UNIX system at that rate!
