- People have frequently asked what the minimum system for running Amiga
- UNIX is. Well yesterday I brought up a working Amiga UNIX 2.1 system
- in a 24Mb s5 partition. Admittedly I had some swap space and the
- obligatory 2Mb boot partition too, but the system itself was only
- taking up about 14Mb of the 24Mb!
-
- Ok, so this was a pretty stripped-down system with just the
- "essentials" package and "ucb compatibility" packages installed, but
- it was a quite usable UNIX system with most of the expected utilities.
-
- A stock standard Amiga 3000 with a Quantum 52 hard drive should quite
- happily house a bare-bones UNIX system at that rate!
