- We have a number of RS/6000s running in the CoE, mainly model 320's and 320h's. These
- machines exist in a student lab for general purpose use. Each is equipped with a 16
- inch 5081 monitor.
-
- Our problem is that these machines are turned on (the monitors) in the morning, and remain
- on all day. If a student is not logged in, the little login prompt sits down in the
- lower left corner and burns the monitor. Is there a screen saver / screen blanker that
- exists for hft/0 (the console device)?
-
- We've tried to tell the students to turn the brightness/intensity down and turn them
- off at night, but that is proving to be unworkable.
