- Hi, everyone.
-
- I recently connected some v.32bis modems (Multitech MT1432BA) to our
- RS6000-320 via an IBM 8-port board. They work fine when XON/XOFF is
- enabled, but I need hardware flow control. IBM faxed me a C program
- that turns on RTS/CTS using IOCTL (which seems to be working, because
- it only allows me to turn it on once for each line), but characters
- are still lost (i.e. the flow control doesn't seem to be active). I
- also tried enabling it via smit chtty (STTY attributes for RUN
- TIME/LOGIN) but to no avail. According to the modem's documentation,
- hardware flow control has been enabled (AT &E1 &E4 &E6 &E8 &E10 &E13
- &E15 for anyone familiar with Multitech). I also tried using the
- on-board serial port (S2) but had the same problem.
-
- When I use cu to dial out, it drops so many characters it's unusable.
- If I use ate I can usually manage ok, as long as I do a screen refresh
- once in a while. This isn't a permanent solution, though.
-
- Any help would be greatly appreciated.
