- I'm writing a document that includes text in a foreign language that
- uses a non-roman script. I would like to spellcheck the document, but
- I quickly get tired of it flagging words like "wdV" or
- "h\opt-am\opt-zl>^". On my workstation at work, I can install a font
- and flag it as Non-Text, so that it will be ignored when
- spell-checking. Is there any way to do something similar on a mac?
-
- [I know (or at least suspect) that I can turn off spell checking for
- an entire paragraph by setting the paragraph format's language to
- "none", but most of the foreign text is in-line, so I would like to
- attach the property to the character format or font.]
-
- While I'm on the subject, since the words in the foreign script *are*
- words, it would be very nice if I could spellcheck them also. This
- would mean being able to flag the character format or font as being in
- the appropriate language (ASL in this case), and being able to create
- my own foreign-language dictionary. I would be ecstatic if, in
- addition, I could convince the spell-check (and find/replace) dialogue
- boxes to display their text in the appropriate font so that I could
- actually recognize the words without having to look down at the
- keyboard and translate symbols.
