- I did as you suggested. I probed with no tape and my disk is at SCSI 3
- and then probed with the tape. It found the disk where it was before and
- found the tape also (at SCSI 4). I took the tape drive apart to make
- sure there were no internal terminators and there weren't. When the machine
- boots, it finds the disk and starts reading in the kernel. It gets as
- far as esp0 and then hangs. After a few minutes it says:
-
- esp0: polled command timeout
- <many more ugly messages>
-
- Then it goes through the rest of the boot process, and it sees the tape at
- SCSI 4 as st0 and tells me it is an Archive QIC-150, then it reboots because
- it can't mount root. Does this sound like a SCSI termination/cable problem?
