  12. I have some problems when trying to format a Micropolis 1375
  13. with a sun 3/80 workstation. It didn't recognize the drive itself
  14. so I had to define it as other in the type menu, parameters enterd
  15. as this:

  19. When I format it I get the following:

  21. Block 286686  (1023/7/1), Fatal non-media error (illegal request)
  22. Warning: error writing backup label.
  23. Block 286688  (1023/7/3), Fatal non-media error (illegal request)
  24. Warning: error writing backup label.
  25. Block 286690  (1023/7/5), Fatal non-media error (illegal request)
  26. Warning: error writing backup label.
  27. Block 286692  (1023/7/7), Fatal non-media error (illegal request)
  28. Warning: error writing backup label.
  29. Block 286694  (1023/7/9), Fatal non-media error (illegal request)

  32. After this I changed it to:

  36. And got the same error but instead of on cylinder 1023 it was on 1021.
  37. It says it is not a media-error.. so I hope my disk is fine, even if it
  38. is alittle old it has never been used before, and it did work when once
  39. tried on a PC. The disk has no deffects on the surface according to
  40. manufacturer.

  42. If anyone knows what might be wrong or can help in anyway I would
  43. appreciate it.
