- To clarify slightly, there are no real problems with the Classic.
- The problem is that the Classic only runs the latest version of
- SunOS, etc. (Solaris 2.1) that many software vendors don't yet
- support.

- Many applications will run on the Classic (execuse me, Solaris 2.1)
- in binary compatibility mode. For example, Island Write/Paint/Draw
- works fine. But FrameMaker doesn't. I haven't upgraded myself
- because I use FrameMaker all the time.

- The Classis is a GREAT machine, but before you buy, check with
- your software vendors (or the net) to see if the software you
- use works with Solaris 2.1. A list of working software
- gets posted to comp.unix.solaris at regular intervals.
