-
- I did some tests using the power supply from a Practical Peripherals
- 2400bps modem. This supply is rated 9vac, 800mA. Open circuit
- voltage was measured at 10.2vac, and did not drop significantly during
- my tests.
-
- Power on, displaying TOPCARD: 20 mA
- Power off: 6.2 mA
- Running IR95 (EXM): 26 mA*
- Running IR95 (EXE): 24 mA*
- Transmitting a code with IR95: 80 mA
- Sitting at a DOS prompt: 76 mA
-
- * There was a definite, repeatable 2mA difference between the EXM and
- EXE versions of IR95. Go figger.
-
- Also, typing 'serctl /o' at the DOS prompt did not decrease power
- consumption.
-
- I tried to take some readings on internal power, but my cheapo ammeter
- apparently drops the voltage too much. I had "Main battery low"
- readings, spontaneous shutdowns, "Exiting backup mode" messages,
- reboots, etc galore. Probably dozens of each. And didn't lose any
- data from anything. I'll get a small, precision resistor and try
- again.
