- On occasion I need to measure the performance of Netware Disk sub-systems.
- Picture this: One server with two disk sub-systems. One is brand X (or
- type X or Model X, or whatever), the other brand Y. I have a file that I
- know will be in great demand and I want to make sure that it is served
- as fast as possible. Which disk do I put it on?
-
- This scenario is difficult to evaluate with PERFORM or other client-side
- measuring tools due to the statistical nature of the network. I WANT
- (gimme gimme) a disk performance-measuring NLM!!!
-
- Guess what? Novell has written one. Check out the ads from some of
- the disk sub-system vendors (like MicroNet's ad on page 27 of the Jan 93
- issue of NetWare Solutions). Novell claims that such a tool would be of
- no use to systems integrators and network administrators such as myself,
- sooooo, they won't release a copy to the net.
-
- However, I understand that at one point this NLM was available on the net.
- I was also told by Novell that if I could find it, I could use it.
-
- Does anybody have a copy I could ftp or get via mail? Howabout a similar
- product?
