- We're about to buy a new Novell Netware server, and we want to
- increase our reliability by going with a RAID-5 disk subsystem
- (roughly, a striped parity disk) and 4 hour guaranteed local
- maintenance. We're thinking along the lines of a 50Mhz EISA box with
- 40MB of memory, 3GB of disk, and either 4mm or 8mm tape backup.
-
- Does anyone have any experience with such a configuration, pro or con?
- Any favorite vendors? We will be talking to DEC, to name one. We're
- hoping to decide on a vendor by the end of January, and hope to
- install the new server in March. Since we don't want to be the new
- kids on the block, we're limited to stuff that is already shipping.
