- Subject: Fwd: QT 1.5 & Toshiba 1.2 Gig
- Lines: 26
-
- Just bought my Toshiba MK538FB 1.2 gig drive!! Formatted it with FWB's Hard
- Disk Toolkit 1.1.1, and everything works fine. Everything, except QuickTime
- 1.5. When I boot from the drive, which is partitioned in 2x 200 MB partitions,
- and one 779, I get a "The application "unknown" has unexpectedly quit due to
- an error of type 3 has ocurred." This is with Simple Player 1.0a1, Premier
- 1.0.
-
- However, if I boot from my external Fujitsu 180, again formatted with HDT 1.1.1,
- and the QT movies are still on the Toshiba, everything works fine.
-
- Here's where things get weird. I also have Screen Play (an application that
- ships with SuperMac's Spigot) and some movies saved in that native format. If
- I open Screen Play, then open a native movie, if the movie opens, then all my
- QT apps will work fine. If the movie doesn't load, I just get a type 3 error,
- and no hope. There seems to be no pattern to this either.
-
- To add yet another twist, QuickTime 1.0 works fine. As soon as I load 1.5,
- crash city.
-
- Toshiba and FWB seem to think it's QT 1.5. So do I.
-
- Any ideas?
-
- Thanks, Bri.
