  13. A friend of mine has a Mac II si.  The machine no longer boots off
  14. the hard drive but will boot from a disk.  He noticed wierd things
  15. happening before the machine "died", eg superclock displaying wrong
  16. time, control panels not working properly.  The last time it was working
  17. the system bombed with an Error 41.  The machine could not be restarted
  18. without power-off.  Hard disk works fine after booting from a disk.
  19. Do you suppose this is a corruted OS, or is there some other problem
  20. possible?
  21. Oh I should explain startup behavior.  He says he gets a happy mac,
  22. the arrow cursor appears and goes to one corner momentarily, then
  23. the ?disk picture appears.
