  18. :I came across a file called "A/ROSE" in the system 7.1 folder.

  21. The A/ROSE file is Apple's Realtime Operating System Extension (or 
  22. Executive) and as best I can figure, slows my system (Q950 8/230) to
  23. a crawl.  I don't know what software requires it, but I removed A/ROSE
  24. and the machine runs fine (and much faster).
