- <sigh>
-
- Withough going into overmany details, I have a PowerBook 160 on loan
- to me. It's an eval unit, so all I have is the CPU and the AC
- adaptor. That's it - no floppies, no HDI-30 cable, zip.
-
- The PB 160 is not recognizing its internal hard drive, and starts up
- with the ole' question-mark-in-a-floppy icon. (It was given to me in
- this state, so no sweat on losing files at least.)
-
- It refuses to boot from the System 7.1 disks that I have (from the
- commercial Personal Update Kit.) It's my guess that this is due to
- the lack of the 'enabler' for the 160. Of course, even if it did
- boot, the System 7.1 disks have no installation selection for the 160
- - only for the 14x and 170.
-
- So - where do I go from here? Can someone out there with a PB160
- email me the enabler for it, so I can try to create a bootable disk?
- Or does anyone else have a suggestion?
-
- Finally - don't bother to respond to this (either email or followup)
- after 5pm EST (US) on Jan 6th, 1992. By then, the point will be moot.
-
- Thanks in advance for any assistance.
