- Hi Netters!
- I'd like some input and help here on a really strange problem with
- a Mac Quadra 700 were having here. Here's the situation
- My friend has a
- - Macintosh Quadra 700 with 20 Megs of Ram (yes Twenty)
- with system 7.0.1
- - Super Mac Video Screen and it doesn't have a 256 color chip
- [excuse my terms I'm not keeping up with new techs for the Mac]
- The problem is this:
- When it boots up you can see that the Mac and mouse emblem is
- in color (ie Welcome to ... sign)
- When the main desktop comes up, the apple icon on the menu bar is
- in color, when the the watch ("please wait" symbol) turns into an
- arrow cursor the _apple_icon_immediately_turns_black._
- It look like it jumps from 16 colors to 8 colors. Also, the
- background turns from blue to a paler blue. When I pull up the
- control panel and choose the color controls "grey" option then
- "color" option the apple icon on the menu bar turns into it's
- familiar rainbow colored icon. Upon closing the Control Panel
- the apple icons turns black once more.
-
- I created a new system diskette and the apple icon is in color.
- What kind of applications can cause this problem?
- This is very important, please help him.
- Thanks for reading.
-
- Please reply by e-mail , I'll summarize if asked.
- Chris.
