  14.     I've been told that my battery is reaching the "replace me" stage
  15. of its life (in my SE).  I want to know if its symptoms are consistent
  16. with what other netters have noted:

  18.     1) Occasionally the SE beeps once, sometimes twice, just before it
  19. boots from the hard drive.
  20.  
  21.     2) Occasionally (maybe once every 7-28 days) it won't boot from the
  22. hard drive; rather, it displays the floppy icon.  Inserting a disk with
  23. a system will cause the SE to boot from the floopy; restarting will work fine.
  24. OR, inserting a disk WITHOUT a system will cause the SE to eject it (as usual)
  25. and THEN to boot from the hard drive.

  27.     Note that once the machine is running all successive restarts or
  28. shutdown-restarts (without shutting off the machine) will result in a
  29. successful boot from the hard drive.

  31.     I haven't noted any other "symptoms"; what else should I be looking
  32. for?  And, again, are these "symptoms" I'm seeing consistent with a dying
  33. battery?
