- Try this at home:

- Set disk cache to 32K and restart. Use Speedometer and see
- what the disk drive performance rating is. Probably over 2.0.

- Now set disk cache to 784K and restart. Repeat performance
- ratings test. As expected CPU and Video ratings improve dramatically.
- But look at the disk drive rating. Mine was down to 0.5!!!
- I repeated this several times, and got the same consistent results!!

- Now what is going on? Why does the disk performance go down so
- much when you increase the cache ??????
