  32. Bruce, you need a generic hard drive formatting software like Formatter1,
  33. Drive7
  34. or FWB Hard Drive Toolkit personal edition. The one supplied by Apple won't
  35. recognize non-Apple brand hard drives.

  37. You can leave the drive as is as internally terminated if there is a row of
  38. three terminating resistors on it. I think you can assign a SCSI address to
  39. the drive via software. Not all the HD software can do it though.

  41. The easier way may be is to buy an external drive kit. I got mine for $80.00
  42. (they actually range from $90-200) and is the one MacDirect and many are
  43. using.
  44. Two 50-pin SCSI connectors, internal or external termination, push-putton SCSI
  45. address, universal power supply, additional power outlets, fuse, etc.
