- Bruce, you need a generic hard drive formatting software like Formatter1,
- Drive7
- or FWB Hard Drive Toolkit personal edition. The one supplied by Apple won't
- recognize non-Apple brand hard drives.
-
- You can leave the drive as is as internally terminated if there is a row of
- three terminating resistors on it. I think you can assign a SCSI address to
- the drive via software. Not all the HD software can do it though.
-
- The easier way may be is to buy an external drive kit. I got mine for $80.00
- (they actually range from $90-200) and is the one MacDirect and many are
- using.
- Two 50-pin SCSI connectors, internal or external termination, push-putton SCSI
- address, universal power supply, additional power outlets, fuse, etc.
