  12. First, to upgrade the machine to 8mb you first have to remove the four
  13. 256k simms that are already installed before you add the four one
  14. meg simms... sorry not enough simm slots on the Performa/IIvx/IIvi's
  15.  
  16. Second, although installing simms might "void" your warranty...
  17. you can quit easily install them ... I've done this many times with no
  18. problem... and besides how is Apple to know that an authorized dealer
  19. didn't install them to begin with... many times I've taken a machine that's
  20. more than half a year old in for repair only to find that they don't even
  21. record of the purchase on the repair system that's into every dealership...
