- Hello there,
-
- The internal HD 40 (Connor) on a IIsi is no longer being recognized. Although
- it spins and seeks a short while at power-up, I get only the flashing question
- mark disk icon.
-
- SCSI evaluator does not automatically find it, but does find it's parameter
- data when device 0 is manually selected. A seek-time test seemed to work OK.
-
- I would like to replace the SCSI driver but Apple's HD SC Setup (ver. 7) fails
- to see this volume. According to "The Dead Mac Scrolls," while HD SC Setup
- version 2 fails to see it, version 1.5 will see it and allow replacement of the
- driver. The mention of such low version numbers when I have version 7,
- perplexes me.
-
- A different brand of formatter program does initially identify the disk as
- being device 0, but this program doesn't seem to offer the option of driver
- replacement. Anyway, I have the impression that I should only attempt replacing
- the SCSI driver with the type of formatter used originally (I believe this unit
- came pre-formatted from Apple).
-
- Can anyone point me in the direction of version 1.5, Apple HD SC Setup... or
- offer an alternative method of recovering this disk?
-
- Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
