- My Apple 13" Monitor is having problems. The monitor goes
- black after about 15 minutes of use. The green power LED
- goes out too. It happens regardless of whether the monitor
- is plugged into wall directly or through the IIci. It happens
- in various apps (Word, Excel, games, etc). It will also happen
- if you let the Mac just sit there in the finder after powerup.
- Incidently, I just upgraded to 7.1 without any reported problems.
-
- My work around it to unplug the monitor line cord, wait 5 seconds,
- and hot plug the power cord back in. This has worked so far.
- Being the "cheap do-it-yourself'er" type, can anyone point to
- a fix. The local dealer suggested that their service guys fix
- this problem by replacing a small transformer in the power supply
- section. I have also heard about something called the "dead mac scrolls"
- or something like that.
