  12. My brother-in-law got hold of an old Apple IIc at a garage sale.

  14. A bit of humor here; he thought he was buying a Mac IIc. (yes, I know
  15. there's no such thing, but HE didn't.)  He paid $50 and thought he got such
  16. a great deal. :-) :-) :-) Ahhhh! What's in a name...?

  18. This is his first foray into computers so I'm trying to help him out.  If I
  19. purchase a 5.25" floppy drive for my Mac, will Apple's File Exchange
  20. recognize it and allow me to format/write floppies in PRODOS and/or the
  21. older Apple DOS file systems?  Have any of you tried this?  Who makes a
  22. compatible 5.25" floppy drive?  My intent is to provide him with Apple ][
  23. software from Compuserve and other BBS sources to get him started.  In
  24. theory there are applications that should allow us to trade data files too,
  25. right?  My copy of MS Word doesn't export to an Apple ][ format, but I'd
  26. thought that I'd seen some programs that did.  Know of any?
