- My brother-in-law got hold of an old Apple IIc at a garage sale.
-
- A bit of humor here; he thought he was buying a Mac IIc. (yes, I know
- there's no such thing, but HE didn't.) He paid $50 and thought he got such
- a great deal. :-) :-) :-) Ahhhh! What's in a name...?
-
- This is his first foray into computers so I'm trying to help him out. If I
- purchase a 5.25" floppy drive for my Mac, will Apple's File Exchange
- recognize it and allow me to format/write floppies in PRODOS and/or the
- older Apple DOS file systems? Have any of you tried this? Who makes a
- compatible 5.25" floppy drive? My intent is to provide him with Apple ][
- software from Compuserve and other BBS sources to get him started. In
- theory there are applications that should allow us to trade data files too,
- right? My copy of MS Word doesn't export to an Apple ][ format, but I'd
- thought that I'd seen some programs that did. Know of any?
-
- Thanks for any and all help!
