  16. If anyone has ANY comments or experiences you'd like to share surrounding
  17. FoxBase for the Mac, I'd really like to hear from you -- email PLEASE!

  22. We have a database up and running between FoxPro 2.0 on a PC clone and
  23. 4th Dimension on a Mac II.  Having incurred too, too many aggravations in
  24. dealing with 4D (performance, proprietary database manipulation language,
  25. etc.), I'd really like to find another database product to use for the
  26. Mac.  Ideally, I believe, that would be FoxBase due to our continued
  27. commitment to FoxPro 2.0 on the PC (which, incidentally, is EXPONENTIALLY
  28. FASTER and, in my opinion, a lot easier to use).

  30. Also, Microsoft is working toward releasing a Windows version of FoxPro
  31. in 1st quarter '93.  Microsoft has stated that they're trying to
  32. offer better support across hardware platforms.  Does anyone know of
  33. any current developments with FoxBase?  Is it approaching the level
  34. of FoxPro 2.0?  Is a new release of FoxBase expected corresponding
  35. to the Windows version?  I haven't been able to wrestle much info from
  36. a Microsoft sales rep via their 800 number (though he was very friendly).

  38. We've just learned that we need to make a decision soon as we currently
  39. have an "offer" by Acius to upgrade 4D and save $100 if we do so by
  40. the end of January.  I very much want to move away from that platform
  41. to something with a reasonable interface, nice programming tools,
  42. GOOD performance, and with SQL support.

  45. interest warrant it!
