- As I long time user of MYM, I feel compelled to add a few cents worth in support of MYM.
-

-
- This is true. On the other hand, the only time I really needed to edit previous
- transactions was with my car payments. When I wrote the check I had some amount allocated
- to principle and some to interest. When I got my statement I would go back and change the
- amounts to match the statement. That (and the occasional mistake) are the only times I
- needed to modify transactions.

- MYM does not display the "balance to allocate". Instead it automatically fills in
- the remaining amount when you select the next budget category. If you didn't want the
- entire amount to go to the second category, type over it with the amount you wanted to
- allocate, select a third category, and the remaining amount is filled in for you. Works
- fine for me.
-
- One of the big pluses of MYM (I don't know whether Quicken has this, and no one has
- mentioned it) is the "Recurring Transactions" window. You can set up any number of recurring
- transactions. All you do is click on that transaction, change the amount ( if needed),
- and hit the record button. MYM fills in the payee and all the rest. When you set up
- recurring transactions, you tell MYM the frequency; it keeps track of the last time
- you entered that transaction, and flags it with an asterisk when it is past due. This is
- invaluable when the electric bill has gotten lost in the pile of mail and you have forgotten
- all about it. (Ask me how I know :-).
