- I share your frustration. For the longest time I couldn't even
- get it to finish installing on our Mac Plus (with 2.5 Meg of RAM).
-
- I just spent two days on and off fiddling with Millie's Math
- House, trying to get it to work. Just because this program required at
- least system 6.0.7, I upgraded from 6.0.2 to 6.0.8. Every time the 20+
- minute installation would finish (why does this take SO LONG???) the
- install program would crash at the very end with a 'missing coprocessor'
- or a 'bad F-line trap', or some other error. The error message given
- almost seemed random. After each crash I discovered that about 2
- Megabytes of free hard disk space was missing. Apparently the crash
- also damaged the 'volume bitmap', which I had to repair using Mac Tools.
-
- Suspecting that they possibly hadn't tested using 6.0.8, I
- upgraded to System 7. After 4 more 20-minute installations, still no
- luck. Finally on the 5th time it installed! But it immediately crashed
- about 2 minutes after entering the small/medium/big screen (with the
- shoes) ... :-(
-
- Now I seem to have it mostly going, as long the kids don't enter
- the small/medium/big screen first. Entering any other area first seems
- to work.
-
- I also tried giving the application more memory (up to 1.5 Meg,
- 3x more than it requested), but this didn't seem to help. It still
- crashed shortly after entering the small/medium/big screen.
-
- My daughter is excited about using Millie's Math House; it looks
- like a really fun program. Now if I could just get it to run reliably
- for her ...
