- I have just seen the demo model of the IBM 700C notebook in my campus store.
- They were pretty ignorant about the features of the machine (errr, it's not a Mac!)
- My question is:
-
- When power saving features are turned on, will the machine stay on for the entire
- duration of a file xfer via modem upload/download? I has another notebook that would
- shut off during modem transmissions and required me to run a power management
- utility BEFORE I entered the modem program. I noticed that the 700C did not
- have all the power features accessible via keyboard shortcuts. It this an annoyance?
-
- If you think that I will always plug in power when xferring files, that is not
- true. It is handy to send a FAX from a conference room during a meeting; a power
- outlet may be hard to reach.
-
- Email reply is preferable, although I do scan this group from time to time.
- thanks,

- p.s. If anyone runs Unix on a 700C, please tell me!
