- I've got an older Sharp laptop, the type with just two floppies and
- no HD, only CGA graphics, etc. I can't get my serial port to work-
- The built-in setup menu lists a COM1 and COM2 as "not present", and
- it won't let me select those segments of the menu for changing. Every-
- thing else works fine in the setup menu, and my Procomm + software
- and modem work fine on other computers. Anyone have experience with these
- machines?
- My modem's "send data" light stays illuminated when the computer
- is on, and the "receive data" light flickers when either floppy is in
- operation. The send data light only goes off of the machine is turned
- off or the modem cable disconnected.
- I have no manual for this computer, is there something simple
- I'm overlooking? I've spent hours trying everything I could think of.
- My primary use for it was to be as a terminal, so I'd really like to
- ge that serial port to work....
-
- Thanks for your thoughts,
-
- John
