- Has anyone done this yet?
-
- The removable hard disk makes this very attractive; one disk for
- DOS/WINDOWS or OS/2 (or both maybe), and another for UNIX. But the MCA
- architecture is a problem -- a lot of PC UNIXs don't support it. Also
- some people have referred to the hard disk as using some sort of IBM
- proprietary IDE controller, so maybe this is a problem too. I'm no PC
- guru, so it would be reassuring to know that somebody else has actually
- made it work. (I'd be happiest if it worked with a big name
- shrink-wrapped UNIX and no hacking)!
-
- I did call IBM, and they told me AIX does not support the ThinkPad. It
- would probably work, but it hasn't been tested. Anyway I am not sure I
- can spend that kind of money! I called various other vendors and got
- various responses, but I'd really like to hear from someone who
- actually has it running!
