- Yes, I almost bought a computer from them. It was on a computer
- show and the deal looked great - 486-50 4Meg 200M HD and LB
- S3 accelerated video. I wrote a check for $1975 (do you beleive
- me? - I don't beleive myself - it was 2 months ago) and got a
- receipt and was waiting when my monitor arrived from some storage
- place.
-
- Then the next part of the story started. Another salesrep came
- and said that she can't sell the computer for this price because
- it has 256 k cache instead of 64, she wanted another $75 plus
- tax. After a short conversation - well, I was kinda angry -
- I was ready to pay that damn money, but the b**ch discovered
- that I'm getting a NI monitor - what else would I buy with
- that machine?- she asked another $50 or so. This got me.
- Having said some unplesant words to her address I took my check
- and left. Not that I mind to pay another $150, but we made the
- deal and good or bad for them they should have kept the word.
-
- These are people you will deal with in Zenon Computers.
-
- 30 minutes later I bought 486-33 from Maximus. ($2,000 out the
- door). Funny, their salesrep also discovered 256 k cache instead
- of advertised 64, but when I said that if he would try to ask a
- dollar more he lose the deal - he agreed.
