  16. It's been 4 months now that I've been trying to find a 
  17. solution to this problem but I had no success. Maybe
  18. someone can give me a clue.
  19. Well, I have an IBM PS/2, 50z (a 286-machine) and I'm
  20. running windows 3.1. I have an old version of procomm (v.2.4.2)
  21. which is working perfectly. When I tried to run the
  22. windows terminal it seems that the software doesn't
  23. communicate with the modem and also anything I type
  24. doesn't appear on the screen. 
  25. I tried all sorts of tricks. I disconnected the mouse
  26. in case it conflicts with the comm-1 port. I removed
  27. the expanded memory card to check for any interference.
  28. I called IBM and they washed their hands. I called
  29. Microsoft and they tried (for more than 1/2 an hour)
  30. to find any problem. Still no solution. I also got a 
  31. new RS-232 in case there is a bad connection. When I had
  32. windows 3.0 version the  windows terminal was working
  33. fine. I also changed the modem (got it from a friend of mine)
  34. and still the old procomm software is working fine
  35. but I can do nothing with windows terminal.
  36. I also got procomm plus for windows and it also does not
  37. operate with the modem. Furthermore as soon as I go into
  38. procomm plus the icon for the telephone indicates than
  39. the receiver is off hook but nothing happens. No dialing
  40. occurs. The screen also doesn't reflect what I type on
  41. the keyboard, the only thing I see is an "A"!
  42. It is really frustrating, and I would really appreciate
  43. if someone could give me an advice (since neither
  44. IBM who makes the computer nor MICROSOFT who wrote
  45. the software are capable to  help)
