- Well, this slow floppy access time, is to be solved by fooling around with
- the CMOS setup. I finally called my SWAN computer guy. I already had the
- shadow RAM enabled, but I had a WAIT STATE = 1, he told me to make that WAIT
- STATE = 2. and now it works fine, I cn get a dir a: in about 3.5 sec, which
- is much better than 7.0 sec.
-
- now, what I'd like to know is, *why* this changes the way, the floppy is
- behaving ? also, I though that a 486/33 could go to wait state = 0, or is it
- dependend on how fast u're memory is ? I have 8MB, dunno how fast thou.
-
- can someone point me to a FAQ which deals, with this WAIT STATE business, or
- else atleast explain it in *detail* to me ?
