  22. You actually need more than just MSCDEX.EXE.  You also need a driver specifically for
  23. the Adaptec controller that knows how to talk CD-ROM.  The MSCDEX.EXE program is a
  24. sort of universal go-between for Windows and the device driver to the CD-ROM.

  26. You can contact Adaptec and try to get what you need or you might be able to contact NEC
  27. and get it.  I personally gave up on Adaptec as their always made me wait on hold
  28. for a long time and then took my name and number but never called me back.

  30. Either way, you are going to have to pay for what you need.
