- I purchased a AIR VLB from umircle in fremont, ca. Cost $236 no cpu
- 256k cache, also got an orchid VLB S3(805) Video Card for $165.
- MB uses 9 bit simms and supports 32 megs on board and there is an propritory
- expandsion slot to add another 32 megs. Dealer said he could get an
- ATI Ultra Pro for about $400. The Orchid card is faster (and cheaper)
- from the mag benchmarks I've seen. I saw it running window and couldn't
- resist it's speed. Now all I need is X11 and OS/2 drivers.
-
- Be carefull about VLB motherboards, the first one I purchased would not
- run UNIX, It ran DOS and OS/2 fine. It had a USA chipset and was made
- in the USA.
