  14. I have a Leading Edge Model D3, 386-DX 16MHz system. It is built around
  15. the DAEWOO motherboard. Recently one of the COM ports on my motherboard
  16. stopped working and since I've been considering installing a game port,
  17. I thought I'd get a multi I/O card. I don't think the I/O card and the
  18. MB ports can coexist so I'd like to know how to properly disable the
  19. ports built into the MB.

  21. The 2s/1p ports are on one LSI chip (in a square, recessed socket, I
  22. think it's called the PLCC package). I figured I could just set a jumper.
  23. The manual offers no help on how to do so. And all the MB jumpers in the
  24. manual are accounted for, so a jumper can't be the answer.

  26. Can I just pull the chip? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
