- Hello,
-
- I've a silly question. I have a system that has a 3.5" and 5.25" floppy
- disks. I'd like to remove the 5.25" (so I can use it's bay). The
- system uses a combined floppy / hd controller. The fd's are controlled
- by a ribbon cable that has connectors for both floppy disks. Disconnecting
- the 5.25" results in the system complaining about a FD controller failure.
- examination of the drives does not revial any obvious terminators, etc.
- I was able to note that the drives appear to work when swapped positions
- on the cable. Note it did not help when I re-configured the bios setup
- to tell it the 5.25" was not there. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
- Thanks!
