- I am interested in buying a handscanner to go along with
- my PC (486 with Windows 3.1). I think what I would like is
- one that can scan lineart, grayscale, 8+ bit color. Do any
- such scanners exist? Are they any good? What kind of
- software comes with them?
- I've also heard of using a grayscale scanner to scan
- color by using 3 separate color filters and software to build
- a color image from 3 grayscale scans. Does this really work?
- Is it a reasonable option to a color scanner? I really won't
- do much color scanning but when I do, I want the results to
- look good.
