- Well, it's not nearly as bad as getting through to sales. The quality
- of tech support varies - some good, some not - but you can get through
- to them a lot faster than you can get a salesman on the phone.

- I should point out - this has nothing to do with what I'm following up -
- that virtually every major computer company has been behind the past few
- months. Sales have been extremely swift and the suppliers have not.
- A lot of the Gateway stuff was way delayed because Sony failed to deliver
- the cd-rom drives anywhere near the date they promised. And Microsoft
- failed to deliver the sound systems when promised. And Micronics has
- been way behind on motherboard delivery. Gateway doesn't really handle
- the delays very well, in my opinion, but the delays themselves are, in
- many cases, the result of suppliers not living up to their agreements.
