- Hope this is the right group for such questions.

- I am trying to attach an external modem to my machine. It is a US Robotics
- 2400 baud modem. The windows manual that i have points me to setup the com
- port and then use the Terminal app.
-
- The mouse uses COM1 and i changed the parameters of COM2 to the right baud
- rate, parity and stop-bits. I also set the Terminal app to use COM2, but
- cannot get the machine to talk to the modem, typing AT should return OK,
- but i get nothing.
-
- What is the right way to connect an external modem? Oh, and i have a 486 box
- from Compudyne, w/ serial, parallel, printer and game ports.
-
- E-mail preferred, i do read this newsgroup too.
-
- thanks
