  15.         I'm dealing with a Quantum Passport XL, 105 Meg removable
  16.         hard disk. SCSI Device. This disk has "lost" it's low level 
  17.         format. I cannot call Quantum from work (900 number) and 
  18.         don't care to spend the $5. myself to get a work related 
  19.         problem solved.

  21.         I've tried calling Quantum's BBS (408) 894-3214, 
  22.         (Advertiezed: 24 hours a day 7 days a week; meaning it's
  23.         busy that amount of time.) :-) And I'm not sure I can get
  24.         what I need there anyway. i.e., a low level formmating 
  25.         routine for the beast in question.

  27.         I cannot get the chassis apart to find out what type of 
  28.         mechanism is inside, they use something like a T4 or T6 
  29.         screw to assemble the shell. No doubt though that the 
  30.         drive itself is similar, if not identical to, a Quantum 
  31.         LPS105.

  33.         Does anyone know of a (the) low level formatting routine for 
  34.         this drive?
