  12. I ordered a Gateways 4DX-33V on October 21 and was promised a 3-4 week
  13. delivery. It is now past the 11th week after I ordered the system and it 
  14. has not been built.

  16. I have been working with customer service to get the computer shipped. 
  17. (after wasting hours of time dialing, redialing and being put on hold)
  18. Customer service is polite but powerless to get it shipped.

  20. I ordered the system with many options, a fax/modem, soundcard, tape backup
  21. and a CD-rom. The main problem appears that not all of the parts are in 
  22. stock at the same time. At various times they have been out of the tape backup,
  23. motherboard, the sound card, and the CD-ROM. Since Gateway does not seem to
  24. set aside parts to put in a system, a system like the one I ordered can take
  25. a long time to get built.

  27. They also will not ship parts to you later. They allow you to cancel parts and
  28. then charge more to order them separately.
