- I ordered a Gateways 4DX-33V on October 21 and was promised a 3-4 week
- delivery. It is now past the 11th week after I ordered the system and it
- has not been built.
-
- I have been working with customer service to get the computer shipped.
- (after wasting hours of time dialing, redialing and being put on hold)
- Customer service is polite but powerless to get it shipped.
-
- I ordered the system with many options, a fax/modem, soundcard, tape backup
- and a CD-rom. The main problem appears that not all of the parts are in
- stock at the same time. At various times they have been out of the tape backup,
- motherboard, the sound card, and the CD-ROM. Since Gateway does not seem to
- set aside parts to put in a system, a system like the one I ordered can take
- a long time to get built.
-
- They also will not ship parts to you later. They allow you to cancel parts and
- then charge more to order them separately.
